In addition to the admission standards of the institution and the SHRP general admission requirements, candidates seeking admission to the Doctor of Health Administration degree program must meet the following requirements:

  • Awarded a master’s degree or professional doctorate from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning with a GPA of at least 3.00 on a 4.00 scale in a health care-related field
    OR

  • Submit official Graduate Record Exam (GRE) scores (GRE requirement may be waived for qualified applicants.  See qualification below*)

  • Current curriculum vitae or resume
  • Essay documenting previous heath care experience

All application documents and application fees must be received by the Office of Enrollment Management by Feb. 1 for summer admission. All applicants pay a non-refundable application fee of $25.

Final transcripts indicating graduate degree completion should be included in these documents. In addition, if required, the GRE should be official and completed within the last five years if waiver is not granted.

*The GRE score may be waived for an applicant with a terminal/professional degree (e.g. MD, PhD, JD, EdD, or DBA) with a minimum GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 for this degree.  Scores for applicants with an advanced degree (e.g. MBA, HSA, etc.) from a regionally accredited institution that required an entrance exam such as the GRE or equivalent may be waived based on previous test scores provided by the applicant.  Additional information regarding this possible waiver can be found in the FAQ section of our website.
